Spirit of Youth
The Spirit of Youth statue, which is now situated at Roundwood Park, was originally installed in 1966 outside the new indoor pool at Willesden Lido.
The statue was created by British sculptor and woodcarver Freda Nellie Skinner (31 January 1911 – 19 July 1993), who had studied under Henry Moore and Alan Durst at The Royal College of Art.
Willesden’s outdoor pool in King Edward VII recreation ground opened in 1911 with a subsequent extension housing the indoor the swimming pool.
